FREDERICKSBURG, Va., 05/05/2022 – Riphean is proud to announce that its Founder and President Joel Griffin received the 2022 Economic Development Week Proclamation on behalf of the Stafford County Department of Economic Development & Tourism. The Proclamation kicks off a week of celebration and awareness of local programs that create jobs, advance career development opportunities and improve the quality of life in the region.

“On behalf of the Stafford County Economic Development Authority (EDA), I am honored to receive the 2022 Economic Development Week Proclamation. Economic development is the intentional practice of improving a community’s wellbeing, quality of life, place and business,” said Griffin. “It is a collaborative effort, and the EDA and Stafford County should be proud of its efforts to support small and large business investments and expansion in Stafford.”

Griffin has served as Chairman of the EDA since 2015. Throughout his tenure, he has championed economic development efforts across the region, including projects impacting workforce development, small business growth and community health. One of his recent achievements involved leading grant initiatives to provide COVID-19 relief funding to locally owned or operated businesses in 2020, deploying over $1.2M.

“I encourage us all to work together across our region to continue to foster and build a strong economy,” stated Griffin.
