FREDERICKSBURG, Va., 05/02/2023 – Joel Griffin, esteemed entrepreneur and philanthropist, has been honored with the prestigious Meritorious Civilian Award by the Loudoun Chamber for his remarkable bravery and life-saving efforts. The recognition was bestowed upon him at the highly anticipated 38th Annual Valor Awards ceremony, held on May 1, 2023, by the Loudoun Chamber.
Griffin’s exemplary skills in CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) played a pivotal role in saving the life of an elderly man who experienced sudden cardiac arrest. With swift action, Griffin immediately initiated chest compressions, and miraculously, on the 28th compression, the man was successfully revived and later received further medical attention at a local hospital.
Expressing his gratitude, Griffin humbly stated, “I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award from the Loudoun Chamber, but this recognition is not about me. It is about the importance of an individual’s actions and being prepared in critical situations. I encourage everyone to learn life-saving techniques such as CPR and the use of AEDs, as they can make a significant difference in saving someone’s life.”
